In addition to the road section, the sidewalk on the odd-numbered side of the street will also be renovated.
Roadwork will begin on Lovassy László utca at 8:00 AM on September 21, 2026. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of the road network and enhance traffic safety.
Planned completion of the works: 16 October 2026. During this period, a partial road closure and traffic changes should be expected on Tavaszmező utca. In Lovassy László Street, the contractor will make every effort to maintain access to the underground garages. The contractor is working to maintain access to the underground garages on Lovassy László utca. However, due to roadwork (milling, deep milling, and paving), a full road closure will be in place for three days, from October 5 to October 7, 2026. During this time, the garages can only be used before 8:00 AM and after 5:00 PM. During the full road closure, traffic patterns will change on Tavaszmező Street. Please pay attention to the posted signs. Please note that the schedule and the exact closure dates may change depending on the weather.
During the renovation, the entire wearing course of the roadway will be removed. Because the road sub-base is damaged in several places, structural repairs will be carried out in those sections before applying new pavement layers across the entire road surface.
The works involve laying a binding course approximately 5–8 cm thick, topped with a 3–5 cm wearing course of AC 11 asphalt. To ensure a high-quality, durable surface, the base will be properly prepared before asphalt laying, and each laid layer will be thoroughly compacted.
Following the milling phase, storm drains, utility shut-off valves, and manhole covers will be adjusted to grade level to ensure proper stormwater drainage once the new pavement is complete.
As part of the project, road markings will also be repainted.
In addition to drivers, pedestrians should pay attention to changes, as renovation work will take place on the sidewalk along the odd-numbered side of the street.
Please be advised that the waste bins (including selective recycling bins) for the properties on Lovassy László utca should be placed out according to the following schedule:
- Properties at 1–4 Lovassy László utca: Please roll your bins out to József utca.
- Properties at 5–7 Lovassy László utca: Please roll your bins out to Tavaszmező utca.
The ongoing construction work on Lovassy Street does not affect bin placement on Tavaszmező Street and József Street. Therefore, bins may be placed in those locations as usual.
