The Józsefvárosi Gazdálkodási Központ is committed to keeping pedestrians safe across the district. Throughout August, we will carry out sidewalk repairs and renovations in several locations to fix surface defects.
Below is the schedule of planned repairs by street:
Phase 1: Works between August 3 – August 7
Restoration starting and concluding in the first week of August primarily targets minor surface subsidences, voids, and uneven pavement:
- Bókay János utca 49–55: Comprehensive repair of damaged asphalt surface around the light pole. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Víg utca 43: Application of mastic asphalt over a 1 m² area. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- In front of the hospital on Dologház utca: Repair of sidewalk asphalt pavement over 8 m², including complete substructure restoration. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Koszorú utca 23: Substructure and mastic asphalt surface repair of sunken sidewalk over 6 m².
- Dankó utca 7: Excavation and elimination of a void formed beneath the sidewalk. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Illés utca 1: Repair of sunken sidewalk pavement along a 2 m² section.
- Bérkocsis utca 25: Professional restoration of a 2 m² sunken sidewalk surface. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Bérkocsis utca 21: Repair of sidewalk expansion joint to ensure a durable and smooth surface.
Phase 2: Works between August 3 – August 14
Tasks requiring a two-week period include the restoration of several hazardous or hollowed-out locations:
- Füvészkert utca 6: Sidewalk and surface repair works. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Német utca 17–19: Professional excavation, compaction, and releveling of sunken sidewalk pavement and the void beneath it. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Leonardo da Vinci köz 1: Safe reconstruction of sidewalk pavement uplifted by tree roots, which had become hazardous.
- Őr utca 12: Sidewalk repair, demolition, and restoration. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Auróra utca 12: Sidewalk and surface repair works. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
Phase 3: Works between August 3 – August 19
- József utca 38: Safe backfilling of a large cavity under the sidewalk and restoration of the pavement. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- József utca 57–59: Substructure reinforcement and releveling of sunken and collapsed sidewalk section. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Mindszenty József tér: Professional correction of uneven pavement uplifted by tree roots. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
Phase 4: Works between August 24 – August 28
- Reviczky utca 6: Demolition, substructure adjustment, and relaying of sunken block paving along approximately 5 meters.
- Krúdy utca 1-5: Block paving repair works.
Phase 5: Works between August 3 – August 28
- Múzeum utca 13: Sidewalk repair, demolition, and restoration. The works involve temporary parking space closures.
- Losonci tér 8: Professional repair of damaged asphalt pavement.
During the construction works, certain parking spaces along the affected sidewalk sections may be temporarily closed. Please proceed with extra caution!
